According to the institution, the detainee will remain in preventive detention at the Male Preventive Prison in Mexico City.

At the time of the discovery, three people were arrested in connection with the case, while some of the deceased migrants have still not been identified. The migrants involved came from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. The Secretary of Foreign Relations of Mexico at that time, Marcelo Ebrard, shared the news on his social media, expressing condolences for the tragedy.
